Fall Term Classes

I registered for my Fall Term classes. I wanted to take ILL 381: Wildlife Illustration but I procrastinated to long and now its full. :c Ill have to snag it next term! Instead I’m taking ILL_385_OL: Children’s Book Illustration 1. Should be fun! The required textbooks are; Where the Wild Things Are, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Mother Goose, and The Cat in the Hat. Got to love that. ^^ I also wanted to take LA 462: Power of Myth and Symbol but I didn’t meet the prerequisites so I’m stuck with history again.

ILL_225_OL: Heads & Hands 2
This course is a continued examination of the form and structure of the head and hands. It is designed to allow students to further develop their drawing techniques, particularly in different media. General structure, proportion and placements will be reviewed. Expressions and color will be explored.

ILL_379_OL: Eccentric Illustration
This course emphasizes personal style, narrative, and conceptual development. Students will study history, psychology perception, and propaganda as it relates to the arts and use this information to further develop their own concepts and expressive skills. Students will produce a unique portfolio working in their choice of media.

ILL_385_OL: Children’s Book Illustration 1
This course is geared toward developing a portfolio as a children’s book illustrator and improving illustration skills. Students will learn children’s book illustration and develop an individual style. Students will improve their picture-making skills, while learning to creatively work within the framework of the book.

LA_171_OL: Western Civilization
This course will cover the history of Western civilization from the beginnings of ancient civilizations to the Renaissance. The civilizations of ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome will be emphasized, as well as Islamic religion and societies.
